How to Find Your Petite Fit: A Sizing Guide

If you're under 5'4" (163cm), you already know the drill: sleeves that swallow your arms, waistlines that sit somewhere around your hips, hemlines that were meant to hit mid-calf and instead brush the floor. Most collections are drafted for an average height of 5'6" and up — everything below that is an afterthought, tailored down proportionally rather than redrawn from scratch.

We do it differently. Every Rosalara pattern starts from petite and Asian body proportions: narrower shoulders, a shorter torso, a straighter chest-to-waist line. That means sleeve length, waist placement, and hemline are correct on the first try, not after a trip to the tailor.

Where to start

Our sizing runs XS through L, built around a target height of 4'10"–5'4" (147–163cm). Before you pick a size, take three measurements: bust, waist, and hip, in inches or centimeters, standing naturally without pulling the tape tight.

Reading the size chart

Full measurements for every size are on our Size Guide page, alongside notes on how each silhouette (fitted vs. relaxed, structured vs. draped) tends to run. If you're between two sizes, we generally recommend sizing up for our silk and lace pieces, since they're designed to skim rather than cling.
